TONIGHT, CHELTENHAM: The first Xposed gig of 2010 comes to the University of Gloucestershire's Pittville Studios tonight.
Topping the bill is London-based band Magic Lantern, which features Jamie Doe on vocals, http://www.wubags.com/handbags-q/ acoustic guitar and kalimba.
The band takes its inspiration from the heartfelt stories of folk, the spirit of jazz and the experimental openness of contemporary chamber music before filtering it through their own lyrical and narrative sensibility. Supporting them are solo pianist Pete Robson and accordion ed hardy clothing player Christopher Keatinge, who is currently in his final year at the university, and won the Rotary Club's Young Musician of the Year in 2005 and was a 2006 finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician of the Year.
